About Real time radiosity

Previous Entry Real time radiosity Mar. 16th, 2007 @ 02:29 pm Next Entry

After lots of sweat and tears at work, the radiosity demo can now be made public. This is a video recorded of our real time radiosity engine working away…

Digg it and make me feel proud!

Ooh, pretty!

To be honest, some of the early A-B comparisons aren't so impressive; what I really liked are the later aspects of the demo which couldn't have been done at all without the radiosity engine. But that's from a position of understanding raytracing; I'm guessing you're trying to sell to the suits at this stage?

Well we need a generic video to slap on the site so a bit of both is helpful :).

Wow - it's certainly impressive. What sort of spec is needed to run something similar to the demo in real time at a decent resolution?

On the XBox 360 we can get >60fps at 720p.

The spot light colour, intensity, animation, etc is exactly the same. The difference in lighting is entirely due to the light being reflected off a large yellow poster on the other wall. The massive difference is the radiosity effect kicking in.

Programming 3D graphics is my idea of a nightmare. Doing those matrix transforms for that "fun" CG class in college broke my brain.

Now I know this may sound very Web 0.95 of me, but is it possible to source an old fashioned, not embedded-in-flash-up-to-its-eyeballs , video file of this demo?
